body conscious???

Hi Lovelies,

Hope you all are doing great!!

I have a huge question to ask you guys, what is your biggest fear in terms of fashion? What is something you choose to not wear because of how a certain body part would look like?  Or simply put, what do you believe is your body flaw?

Believe it or not, and I also have mentioned it in a earlier post, my flaw body part is my midsection. There are so many times I would try on a dress, but when I see my mid section I immediately become discouraged and let it ruin my mood. I try hiding it, wearing shape wear, everything but it is always that one thing poking out that just becomes irritating and makes me simply give up and jump back into my pajamas. Well this year, and moving forward, my mid section is not going to ruin anything.  I will wear more dresses including body conscious dresses and skirts. This is more like a challenge to myself. Why allow one area to ruin an entire outfit, or better yet an entire night out? The world will not stop because of my midsection and I finally nailed it to my head.

As a result of this challenge, below is a look I created. In this look, I'm wearing a body con jersey skit, paired with my "Believe in God" t-shirt and a leather jacket. I ended the look with booties purchased from JustFab during their President's Day sale.

However, if you feel that you still need to hide a certain area to get that confidence boost back, there is nothing wrong with that. As long as you feel good, TRUST, your outfit will look great!!  Remember, it's always about feeling good about yourself. Your confidence is shown through your style, it expresses how you see yourself. With this current style, what I am trying to express is that I feel great about every part of my body.

I end this post with a quote by Yves Saint Laurent.  "I have always believed that fashion was not only to make women beautiful, but also to reassure them, give them confidence".
